No better way to celebrate John's 26th birthday than with the Filthy Fifty! John did this same WOD exactly one year ago. By how much time do you think he'll improve?

Heya, I won't be at the 6am workout today, but I'll see you on Tuesday and I'll be there Wed am. I'm a little beat after this weekend and am hoping the extra sleep and day off will help me not get sick... and I just wanted to be the first post of the day ONCE. :) Take care, see you soon!

I'll be there at 5 tomorrow....Dang "Filthy Fifty"???!!!! I was hoping on Wednesday....Hopefully my torn hands do okay with the knees to elbows and KB swings and jumping pullups and push press.....Dang "Filthy Fifty"????!!!!!

So on 7/20/08, within two weeks of my first attempt at Crossfit, I did this workout at XSport in Chicago. I did the back extensions on one of those angled contraptions, I did empty barbell thrusters instead of the wallballs, my box jumps would not have counted, and the entire workout was split between the gym's two levels. 35:37 was my time. I will have no less than 3 excuses ready in case I do not get under 20 today.

The wifey and I were the only 2 this morning for the Filthy Fifty. Can't remember Liliana's time, she beat me but mine was 37:28 or 37:38 one or the other. Either way I beat my last time of 43:26. So glad to have this done with today.

Jason made a good suggestion to Liliana and I while doing this WOD. The best thing is to concentrate on the movement you're on at the time instead of thinking about what else you have left. This way it doesn't seem so bad. Don't run from this WOD. You'll be glad you did it afterwards. So if you're thinking of hiding from this one don't just do that damn thing.

Oh and the 6am session is awesome. Feel great right now and am so so happy that I don't have anything to do after work. You guys should try it. The only part that sucks is waking up. Once you're there its just like any other day at Crossfit.

Happy bday John! I'll probably be in at the 5pm or 6pm session today depending on what time I leave the office and how traffic is. Norberto good job on that filthy 50, a 6 minute improvement is pretty huge! I think I got a little over 43 minutes my last time doing this and am going for under 40 today. With the 6 week break I took it might be tough but we'll see what happens. See you guys later!

A suggestion to all that will do Filthy Fifty today. Make sure you eat a descnet lunch (not so much crap) and stay hydrated. You will need it.

I'm right there with you John. If I don't get a sub 20 time, it's because my butt is still sore from the walking lunges, or I had to get up too early for the 6 am class, or I was shorted on the grilled chicken in my salad at lunch...

I just came back from my ankle follow up. The doctor gave me a shot on my ankle to puff up the remaining cartilage. He said to stay off the ankle today to allow to work.

Unfortunately, I will miss "Filthy Fifty" today. But, I do plan on doing this possibly tomorrow.
