Paleo Challenge Day 1 is out of the way! It's all downhill from here...I wish. What non-Paleo food are you going to miss the most over the next 30 days? I'll start - milk. I usually have milk at least twice a day.

I'm going to say eating cereal at night. I usually have Whole Grain Cheerios. I still have an almost full box left with skim milk in the frig. Now the box is going to sit there, but the kids will be drinking it with there cereal without them know that it is skim milk
Nena said she'd miss, "chips and ice cream" the most. Me - I'm gonna miss eating brown sugar out of the bag with my hands. Just kidding - bread.
I will miss my Fiber One cereal with milk in the morning. That was the closest to real cereal I would get too.
We had some sirloin strip steak with sautéed asparagus (sp) last night. This morning I had an omelette with orange bell peppers and mushrooms.
My snack for this afternoon will be 2 hard boiled eggs with some blueberries, blackberries, strawberries and almonds.
J, look into almond milk!
Does anyone know where I can buy some "real" beef jerky that I can be snacking on?
I will be trying Monty's idead of green eggs. For breakfast I will blend in the blender 2 whole eggs and 2 eggwhites with 1 cup of spinach. Then I will pour in pan and scramble with sliced mushrooms. I will also have some strawberries and a few blackberries.
I will be cooking the same thing for Lydia when she gets back from her 9a workout.

definitely cereal and popsicles. last night it took all of my willpower not to have one after dinner!
this morning i had a strawberry, blackberry and red berry smoothie (hard to blend without milk, used some hot water) and last night i took some ground turkey added some spices and green peppers and made "sausage patties" to eat for bfast.
yesterday made these with spinach (minus mayo and meat) for bfast, quick and yummy:

JJ, you can actually eat wings just make sure there baked not fried and with no breading.
I would have to say I'll miss frosted flakes in the morning, my bacon cheeseburger for lunch, my pizza for dinner with my diet coke....but hanging in there. 1 day down 29 to go.
Guille what about your McDonalds after you hit up Burger King? Im going to miss the cheese, pasta, and of course coke cola. Sebastian going to be tick off!

I'm going to miss my beverages other than water and organic teas, breads, pastas, cheese, and, most of all, cheesecake. Oh wait, did I mention butter and condiments?
In two weeks time you all won't miss this stuff anymore because you will all be feeling so GREAT, and let me tell you that when you do eat that stuff, you will realize how terrible it will make you feel. If you want baked goods look into substituting Almond meal for flour that's how I make my paleo pancakes..
Almond meal (trader joes is the best and most cost effective)
2 eggs
Shaved coconut from a real coconut that the sweeten junk in the bag
spoon or two of almond butter or sunflower seed butter (trader joes)
vanilla extract
Seasonal fruit, like berries
Mix
Cook
ENJOY
Andy try worlds kitchen beef jerky, I order mine from Amazon.com.. best jerky I have ever found and cost is reasonable. I now buy it by the case.
I am going to miss my dairy. The most is chocolate and pop. I crave chocolate once in a while. The girls know what I am talking about. I get a little crabby when I dont have my chocolate. I feel sorry for Andy, he is going to have to put up with my crabbiness. However, so far so good everyone is doing a great job.
This is what Lydia and I had for lunch.
Makes 4 burgers:
1 lb of Ground Turkey
2 eggs
1 Roma tomatoe (chopped)
1 yellow bell pepper
Mix all ingredients together and season with onion powder, minced garlic, and black pepper.
Make 4 burgers out of your stash :)
Grill and serve. Eat with a salad and use limes for dressing. Prepared and ate all in less than 1 hour. Enjoy!
I just weighed myself on the same scale that had me weighing at my heaviest of 235lbs before starting crossfit after my ankle surgery.
I am very happy. I know broke the 200 mark. I am now 196lbs. I got off and got on a few times to make sure it was reading correctly. Sure enough, it kept reading 196lbs. 39lbs lost and counting!
Congrats Andy, I bet it was the 2 days of Paleo, my prediction if you follow paleo for the month you will be under 190 July 1, when was the last time you saw that number?

Seriously, these taste just like a Hershey bar. (How horrible is it that only 1 day of Paleo I made a sweet?! BUT in my defense, I had to have something that I could share with the 3 yr old I nanny that didn't have to be refrigerated)

Sorry guys, I dont have the will-power to do paleo. Although, I am making eating changes. I'm eliminating all pop/soda (whatever you call it) and all fast food. period. And limiting my drinking to one day every other week, and staying away from beer. hard liquor only haha.
